Our Story

Straw Hat Quilts is a family business located right here on our East Texas farm. It started with a love for quilting and a desire to preserve our family's memories and history.

As in most families, there were quilt tops stored in boxes throughout the family and never finished by the women who had started them. Every time I found out about one, I asked for it. One by one, I finished them, and they are now being used and loved by family members.

When my Dad died in 2020, my sister stitched all of his T-shirts into quilts for our 9 kids. Every one of them is loved and displayed in their homes as a reminder of their Papa. A simple stack of T-shirts, when stitched with love became priceless treasures that could then last a lifetime. 

Quilting is the way I choose to help our family and other families preserve the memories most precious to them. I hope you enjoy the quilts made for you now, and for many years to come!
